Russian annoyance over Qatar's blocking of Assad's return to the Arab League

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed "his country's displeasure at the Qatari role that hinders the return of the Assad regime to the League of Arab States."
A source close to Lavrov talks with senior Tunisian officials, said that "the Russian minister valued the Tunisian initiative to restore the Assad regime to the incubator of the Arab League, within the tracks of a comprehensive settlement of the Syrian crisis."
Lavrov said that "Tunisian movements have received strong support from Arab countries for some time, but Doha is clearly hindering the efforts of an Arab consensus to end the issue and lift the freeze on membership of the regime suspended since 2011."
