    The International Agricultural Cooperation Organization (IACO) organizes a training workshop for more than 100 farmers in the areas of the Euphrates Shield



    The Agriculture and Livestock Office of the Local Council of Kabbasin, in collaboration with the International Agricultural Cooperation Organization (IACO), organized a training workshop for more than 100 farmers in both Kabbassin,Al Bab and Bzaa areas.

    Dr. Nidal Al-Ashqar, Director of the Organization in the North of Syria, said that the aim of this workshop is to identify the problems experienced by the olive growers so that the future projects are in line with the reality and stems from the actual needs of the farmers in the mentioned areas as that this tree is one of the most important trees in the world economically.  

    Syria occupies advanced positions in the production of olive oil in terms of quantity and quality. The workshop was divided into two main axes. The first topic was the lecture by Khalid Al-Najem, an expert on olive cultivation, on the reality of agriculture, the value chain of the olive tree, the most important fungus affecting the olive tree, the olive tree service schedule and the most important procedures for obtaining high quality olive oil.

    The second axis, in which the lecturer Khalid Al-Najm talked about the establishment of olive groves from the cultivation of plantations and the formation of typical field of the olive grove and the service operations of plowing, trimming and fertilization and the nutrition of the olive tree from agriculture until the age of advanced.

    For his part, Mr. Yasser Al-Hassan, head of the Office of Agriculture and Livestock said that we are constantly seeking to provide the necessary support for farmers and to conduct courses to raise awareness of the agricultural field, which contributes to improving the quality and raise the prices of agricultural crops.
